I just don't know what to think

Hello World~
I am communicating to you through a battered body and soul. My students have spent the last two weeks with the mantra, as Urkle so elegantly put it back in the day, "Wearing her done, wearing her dooooowwwwnnnnnn." I was so mad on Wednesday that I thought I was going to throw up. When I asked a student if she would like to go to the nurse, because she had been complaining of a headache, she looked me in the eye and said " No, I want to go to the mall, what do you think?" I threw away the nurses pass and wrote a new pass to the principal's office. I had her fill out a BIP, behavioral improvement plan, which she had to copy over and have a parent sign. It didn't come back today. We started off well enough but as the day wore on the class fell apart. I was completely at a loss and I feel like a total failure. At the same time, I know its beyond me and hopefully it will be better tomorrow. I can only pray. Ciao

Welcome to the wonderful world of teaching. Your student teaching only requires 2 weeks of actually doing it full time all day? Shoot - we had 10 weeks of full time all day. The entire student teaching time was like that. Our 'get the feet wet' time was called "field experience" and done the semester prior to student teaching with the classes you would eventually be student teaching for. In any case, just wait until next year, when it's 36 weeks of full time all day... and you get to do that every 52 weeks.

I guess you can see how it's so hard to stay in this profession for long. My thoughts are with you.
